LKLP Community Action Council, Inc. has an array of programs that offer a multitude of services to the community and its residents. LKLP Programs, along with a brief description, are listed below.  Click on the program name to view the program webpage.


Programs

       
  • Community Collaboration for Children
    Provides case management, safety planning, assessments, the development of goals and tasks, extensive documentation, and in-home parenting education.

       
  • Community Services Block Grant
    Outreach staff provide services to children, adults, elderly and all disabled persons whose incomes are at or below 125% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Services include, employment, education, nutrition, health, housing, linkages and income management.

  • Compassionate Hearts Adult Day Health
    Provides a safe and social stimulating environment, offering caregivers an alternative to nursing home care for their loved ones.

  • Domestic Violence Program 
    Provides a safe, temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence and their dependent children.

  • Head Start
    Federally funded program for preschool children from low-income families. Children participate in a variety of educational activities and receive free medical and dental care and healthy meals and snacks.

  • Housing
    Assists low to moderate income families in obtaining decent, affordable housing. They also provide home ownership and budget counseling and workshops.

  • Human Service Transportation Delivery
    Provides non-emergency medical transportation to Medicaid, Department for the Blind and Vocational Rehabilitation clients.

  • Jobsight
    Offers a broad array of services for the jobseeker, including career planning, support services, training and job placement. They also offer services to employers helping them find, train and screen the employees they need to compete in today’s economy.

  • Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program
    Provides home energy assistance to needy families throughout the LKLP service area. They expend funds to electric and natural gas companies, purchase bulk fuels, space heaters and survival blankets for needy families.

  • Nutrition Program
    Serves meals to elderly individuals at Congregate Sites, as Home Delivered Meals and as Home Care Meals.

  • Public Transportation
    Provides an on demand response system in which riders schedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance and a vehicle is sent specifically to pick up scheduled riders.

  • Self-Help Parenting Class
    Teaches parents more and/or better parenting skills. Court ordered and DCBS referrals are accepted, but parents can also attend without being referred.

  • Victims of Crime Assistance
    Offers counseling services to adults and children who suffer emotional and/or physical traumas because of criminal acts.

  • Weatherization
    Provides necessary home repairs to prevent heat loss and repairs or replaces heating systems when necessary.

  • Workforce Investment Act
    Assists low-income individuals in acquiring the necessary skills to become gainfully employed.
