The LKLP Community Action Council, Inc. seeks applicants for three open positions of Career Advisor for the WIOA Program.  These positions are full time with a starting pay rate of $13.93 per hour with meeting the minimum requirements.  Pay could be higher based on education/experience.  One position will be based in Letcher County with travel required to all four county locations as needed.  The other two positions will be based in Perry County with travel required to all four county locations as needed.

Responsible for the provision and case management of direct services for low-income residents.  Career Advisors may serve an active WIOA case load and/or serve as a Job Club Facilitator or Business Services Representative.  Career Advisors must be both job seeker and business customer focused.  The position requires familiarity with resources available to clients beyond WIOA jobseeker and business services, including but not limited to:  Economic Development agencies, Chambers of Commerce, Office of Career Development, Kentucky Community and Technical Colleges, Office of Career and Technical Education, etc.

Education requirements are an Associate Degree with one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Customer Service Representative (CSR) Job Opening

Safe House Job Opening 

The LKLP Community Action Council, Inc. seeks applicants for the Victims Advocate Case Manager/Housing Coordinator position based in Hazard, Ky.  The position is full time working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm with a starting salary of $13.93/hourly with meeting the minimum position requirements.  Pay could be higher based on education and/or experience.  Responsibilities include working directly with victims in crisis.

Education requirements are an Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Administrative Assistant

The LKLP Community Action Council, Inc. seeks applicants for two Weatherization Laborers.  These positions are full time with a starting pay rate of $12.00 per hour.  Pay could be higher based on education/experience.  The positions will be based in Hazard, KY with travel throughout the entire service area.  Responsibilities include constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes.

Head Start Job Openings

Head Start Program has several openings throughout the four county service area for Associate Teachers and Teacher Assistants.  The starting pay for a Teacher Assistant is $12.00/hr. with meeting the minimum requirements. The starting pay for an Associate Teacher is $12.36/hr. with meeting the minimum requirements. Pay could be higher based on education and/or experience.

Transportation Job Openings 

LKLP Community Action Council, Inc. is taking applications for transportation drivers. Duties and responsibilities include driving car, bus, van or other agency vehicle to transport passengers for fee, voucher, or other human service transportation. These positions are full time with a starting pay rate of $12.00 per hour. Other essential duties and responsibilities include: picking up passengers in response to radio or telephone relayed request for service, picking up passengers based on predesigned scheduled or fixed route, assisting passengers courteously, assisting with baggage and wheelchairs, etc., attending all required trainings, including Passenger Assistance, First Aid, Defensive driving, etc., reporting by radio or telephone to office/dispatcher on completion of trips, delay or accidents, maintaining all logs and records, collecting and reporting fees, passes or vouches, completing paperwork requiring signatures of necessary parties, maintain a clean, safe vehicle following agency regulations. A driving history, criminal background, and drug test must be completed before hiring.
