Program Highlights

LKLP operates four county outreach offices, one in Leslie, Knott, Letcher and Perry counties.  The Outreach offices offer ease of access to community residents seeking LKLP services or referrals.

Each of the Outreach Offices is staffed by two Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) staff and a Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) staff.  Outreach Office staff in each county accept applications for housing, LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program), Commodities for Low Income Senior Citizens, and various other services, such as Parent Self Help classes, Community Collaboration for Children Services, Transportation inquiries and assistance with resumes and job searches, public computer usage.  Staffs also offer applications for the state Prescription Assistance Program and work with the Lions club for glasses, and local food organizations.

Local Outreach offices collaborate with other agencies, organizations and local government to provide additional specific services and referrals in each county.  If the LKLP County Outreach Office does not offer the service, staffs will refer you to an agency that provides the service.
